Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their skills in rug hooking, the art of creating handmade rugs but also table mats, chair seats, hot pads, wall hangings and other decorative and useful objects, from strips of yarn, wool or other fabrics. The artist uses a hand hook to weave the strips of cloth through spaces in burlap which has been attached to a hardwood hoop creating patterns and designs.
