Rubber Stamping Clubs
Taxonomy Code: PS-8200.0550-750
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in rubber stamping, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Rubber stamping is the art of using rubber stamps, specialty paper, glitter, ribbons, fabrics and other materials to create handmade greeting cards. Activities may include lectures by people with rubber stamping expertise, demonstrations of different techniques using a variety of stamping tools and materials, and regular meetings at which members share the results of creative rubber stamping projects, enjoy the company of other enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some stamping clubs also provide space for stamping activities, arrange for discounts on materials, sponsor exhibits or sales of cards created by members, publish a newsletter or provide access to a library of resources about the craft. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
