Programs that provide a variety of support services for people who are considering filing a request for the temporary detention of someone they believe to be a danger to themselves or to others due to a psychiatric disorder. Services may include assistance to determine applicants' needs and expectations; demystifying the process and anticipating possible outcomes; exploring the current situation, resources available and possible solutions; referrals to and connections with relevant resources; assistance completing the request; accompaniment at the hearing; and other post-intervention services as required.
