Individuals who place and install iron or steel girders, columns and other construction materials to form buildings, bridges and other structures. In addition, they repair and renovate older buildings and structures. Ornamental ironworkers install elevator shafts, stairs, curtain walls (the nonstructural walls and window frames of many large buildings), and other ornamentation after the structure of the building has been completed.
