Individuals who are being subjected to acts of intentional cruelty including harrassment, cyberstalking and denigration (hate speech) by cyberbullies, typically teens, who use the Internet, cell phones or other devices to send or post cruel images, rumors and falsehoods that are intended to hurt or embarrass them and damage their reputation and friendships. They may also be subjected to public actions such as repeated threats, sexual remarks or defamatory false accusations, and people ganging up on them by making them the subject of ridicule in online forums, hacking into or vandalizing sites about them, and posting false statements as fact aimed a discrediting or humiliating them. Cyberbullying involves repeated behavior with intent to harm.
